Columbia, Mo. (January 13, 2010)— Boone County Stormwater Management is sponsoring a video contest for all Boone County residents and students.
The contest asks participants to create a public service announcement (PSA) to educate the community on stormwater and water pollution issues. Two categories of videos are being offered. The first is a short PSA, which should be no longer than 30 seconds. The second, is a short film PSA that should be one to three minutes in length. Some of the submitted videos will air on television, at local movie theaters and on Web sites. They will also be shown in kiosks during educational events.
There will be one winner chosen from each category. The first place winners will receive $500 each and the second place winners will receive $250 each.
An optional informational meeting for the contest will be held Thursday, Jan. 21 at 4 p.m. in room 220 of the Roger B. Wilson Government Center, 801 E. Walnut, Columbia, Mo. 65201.
