During these unprecedented times, our goal is to continue to serve Boone County taxpayers by providing essential services. However, will we be doing so with minimal staffing and modifications to normal business operations.

We encourage taxpayers to call or email the Collector’s office with questions or concerns. Paid property tax receipts and statements of non-assessments can be emailed. Most local vehicle licensing offices will accept these electronic copies. In addition, paid property tax records are provided weekly to the DOR for online licensing renewals or in-person visits to local license offices.

If you need to make a payment we request that payments be mailed, placed in our drop box at the Government Center entrance at the corner of 9th and Ash St., made online or over the phone by calling 1-877-690-3729.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and patience.

– The Staff of the Boone County Collector’s Office

Welcome to the Boone County Collector's Site

A county-wide elected office with a four year term, the Collector's position is held by Brian McCollum. Mr. McCollum was elected on November 4, 2014, and sworn in on March 1, 2015.

The Boone County Collector of Revenue is the elected official responsible for collecting current and delinquent property taxes for the county and various political subdivisions within the county which have authorized property tax levies. In addition to property taxes, the collector also collects special assessments for improvement districts and fees for liquor, auctioneer and merchant licenses and county food establishment inspection permits.

The collector is responsible for the accounting and distribution of collections to tax entities such as school, library and fire districts.

By law, the collector must use any legal means to collect delinquent taxes. The collector's office provides services relating to processing tax payments from escrowed accounts held by mortgage holders on behalf of real estate owners. Primary tax records are maintained and held for public use within the collector's office.
