County Announces Stormwater Logo Contest

High School Students Encouraged to Promote Stormwater Awareness
All High School students who reside in Boone County are invited to create a logo and slogan that will be used in educational and promotional materials by Boone County, the City of Columbia and the University of Missouri for the Stormwater Management Program.
All submissions must be the original artwork of the participant. Copyrighted clipart, images, or characters are prohibited. The logo's will be judged on artistic merit, creativity, originality, and understanding and representation of stormwater.
The top finalists will get a chance to work on their logo and slogan with a University of Missouri graphic design class. There will be a $100 prize for first place, with second and third receiving a $50 prize. The first place winner's art teacher will receive $200 towards art supplies to be used in the classroom.
Entries are due October 2, 2009 at 5 p.m. Submissions should be mailed to Nicki Brown, Stormwater Educator, Boone County Public Works Department, 5551 Highway 63 South, Columbia, Mo. 65201.
