2016 Boone County Property Tax Statements Are Due December 31, 2016

Brian McCollum, Boone County Collector of Revenue, wishes to remind Boone County taxpayers that the 2016 property taxes are due by midnight December 31, 2016. There are several options available to taxpayers to remit payments to the collector's office

County offices will be closed on Saturday, December 31, 2016. The last day to pay in person at the collector's office is by 5:00 pm on Friday, December 30, 2016. The collector's office is located on the first floor of the Roger B. Wilson Boone County Government Center, corner of 9th and Ash Streets in downtown Columbia.

Property tax payments can be placed in the collection payment drop box located near the entrance of the Government Center on the corner of 9th and Ash Streets. Payments must be deposited by midnight December 31, 2016 to be considered received on time.

Mailed payments must be postmarked by December 31, 2016 to considered paid on time. Be sure your check or money order is written for the correct amount, and sign your check. The collector's office recommends checking with your local post office to determine the December 31, 2016 postmark cutoff time.

Lastly, payments can be made with a credit card or e-check online at the collector's webpage www.showmeboone.com/COLLECTOR; or, pay by phone at 1-877-690-3729, have your bill number handy and use jurisdiction code 3517. Taxpayers wishing to pay online or by phone have until midnight December 31, 2016 to pay the current amount due.
