Boone County kicks off National County Government Month, "Healthy Counties, Healthy Families"

April is National County Government Month with a theme this year of "Healthy Counties, Healthy Families." Boone County is taking this as an opportunity to reach out to Boone County residents with information about County services as well as to kick off the Wellness Initiative within Boone County Government. Employees will be given opportunities to gain knowledge, increase activity, achieve wellness and maybe even lose some weight through wellness-centered activities. On Friday, April 6, Boone County Commissions past and present gathered over lunch to discuss current events in Boone County. Commissioners having served terms dating back to 1985 were represented at the gathering in the Boone County Commission Chambers hosted by Presiding Commissioner Dan Atwill and District I Commissioner Karen M.
