Boone County Community Services Department Releases 2020 Annual Report

June 15, 2021 – The Boone County Community Services Department (BCCSD) released its 2020 Annual Report on Monday, June 14, 2021. This report provides a comprehensive overview of the 2020 contracted organizations and program outcomes; the department’s COVID-19 response; and community collaboration during this unprecedented year. In 2020, the Community Services Department provided funding of $8,492,451.87 to support 69 programs aimed at improving the lives of Boone County residents.

The Community Services Department was established in 2014 and is responsible for the administration of the Children’s Services, Community Health, and Domestic Violence Funds for a combined budget of over $7 million a year. Each funded program is required to submit reports semi-annually to demonstrate the impact of the program services on the individual, family, and community.

We are excited to share information about organizations that have been funded and the impact their work has had on the children, families, and citizens of Boone County. “There are many children, families, and individuals benefitting from the services funded by the department. I want to thank both the taxpayers of Boone County and Boone Hospital who make this possible,” shared Joanne Nelson BCCSD Director. “Healthy children, families, and individuals contribute to a healthy community. I’m grateful to live in a community that cares about and is responsive to the needs of others.”

The report is available electronically on www.showmeboone.com/community-services.
