Boone County Commission Accepting Applications for ARPA Funding

December 12, 2023 – The Boone County Commission (Commission) is now accepting applications for the final round of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding.

The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 was signed into law on March 11, 2021. The Act established the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) program, which provides funding that must be allocated for pandemic rescue and recovery efforts.

The Commission is now accepting applications from organizations for the final round of ARPA funding. The application can be found at https://www.showmeboone.com/commission/arpa.asp. The final round of funding will allocate approximately $6.5 million in remaining ARPA funds. The application deadline for the final round of funding is set for 5 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024. The Commission will be announcing public information sessions across Boone County in the coming weeks. Commission approval of applications for the final round of funding is expected in Spring 2024.
 
On July 25, 2023, following a rigorous review process, the Commission announced the recipients of approximately $12 million of funding in the first round of ARPA funding.

The U.S. Department of the Treasury has established guidelines for eligibility for ARPA funding. Business and organizations are encouraged to review the ARPA Final Rule FAQs (https://home.treasury.gov/system/files/136/SLFRF-Final-Rule-FAQ.pdf), Final Rule Overview (https://home.treasury.gov/system/files/136/SLFRF-Final-Rule-Overview.pdf), or other guidance issued by the U.S. Treasury to determine if they may be eligible for funding. After determining potential eligibility, businesses and organizations are invited to submit an application to the Commission via the website.

Organizations should note that the deadline to submit applications for funding to the Boone County Commission is set for 5 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024.
