Boone County Releases Request for Proposal for $10M

June 1, 2022 – Boone County, through the Boone County Community Services Department, released a $10 million request for proposal opportunity on May 18, 2022. Applications for funding will be considered from nonprofits or governmental entities if the proposed program provides services to children, youth (nineteen years of age or less), and/or their families is areas fundable pursuant to statute. Applications are due on June 29, 2022.

Funds for this request for proposal (RFP) come from the voter-approved, quarter-cent sales tax passed in 2012 called the Children’s Services Fund Tax. Applications for funding are reviewed and approved by the Boone County Children’s Services Board, a nine-member board, appointed by the Boone County Commissioners. The Community Services Department is responsible for assisting the Children’s Services Board for the administration of Children’s Services Tax funding.

“There are many children, families, and individuals who have benefitted over the years from services funded through this tax,” shared Joanne Nelson BCCSD Director. “I want to thank the Boone County taxpayers for helping make these opportunities possible. Healthy children, families, and individuals contribute to a healthy community. I’m grateful to live in a community that cares about and is responsive to the needs of others.”
