Boone County Public Safety Joint Communications recognized for accreditation from international organization
April 17, 2014
Officials with the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED) presented a plaque to Boone County Commissioners and Public Safety Joint Communications representatives, formally recognizing PSJC's accreditation in Emergency Fire Dispatch. The presentation was made during today's regularly scheduled Boone County Commission meeting in the Boone County Commission Chambers.
The IAED accreditation was based on the implementation and compliance with the Fire Priority Dispatch System's “20 Points of Excellence”, which include certification for all 9-1-1 emergency telecommunicators and proper system oversight. PSJC is only the 26th emergency dispatch center in the world to earn such an honor from the Salt Lake City-based organization.
The International Academies of Emergency Dispatch is a non-profit, standard-setting organization promoting safe and effective emergency dispatch services worldwide and comprised of four allied academies for medical, fire, and police dispatching and emergency communication nurses.
