April 13, 2012

All residents of Boone County are eligible to receive a prescription discount card which could save them money on prescription medications not covered by insurance.

Boone County Government is a participant in the National Association of Counties' Free Prescription Discount Card program. The program is available to all Boone County residents regardless of age, income or existing health coverage. The card is completely free, requires no enrollment and carries no limits or restrictions on frequency of use. Cardholders and family members can use the card whenever a prescription is not covered by insurance. In 2011, Boone County residents averaged a savings of 32 percent. The prescription card can even apply to pet medications that are also used to treat human conditions if purchased at a participating pharmacy. Simply present it to a participating pharmacy and save!
