Boone County Participates in Artificial Intelligence (AI) Summit

COLUMBIA, Mo., (October 2, 2025) - Boone County recently participated in the National Association of Counties (NACo) AI Central Regional Forum in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The forum is part of a regional series convening local government elected officials, appointed officers, department heads, and staff across different geographical regions to provide an educational, hands-on symposium on the landscape of artificial intelligence (AI) and generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) for county governments.

The NACo AI Central Regional Forum brought together public- and private-sector leaders to explore the future of technology in government operations. The event featured expert speakers, panel discussions, and case studies highlighting how AI can improve efficiency, enhance public services, and strengthen data-driven decision-making. Amy Gerskin, Senior Buyer for the Boone County Purchasing Department, attended sessions on responsible AI use, cybersecurity, and innovation in local government, gaining valuable insights into emerging tools and best practices.

The forum underscored the County's commitment to leveraging technology responsibly across all departments and offices to better serve its residents.
