Boone County Announces Selection of Emergency Management Director and Joint Communications Director

The Boone County Commission is pleased to announce Terry Cassil has been selected as the Director of the new Boone County Emergency Management and Chad Martin has been selected as the Director of Boone County Joint Communications.

Terry is currently employed by Missouri State Emergency Management Agency as the Chief of Operations and Response Branch Manager. He is also a safety officer for Missouri Task Force 1. Terry was a fire fighter for the City of Columbia Fire Department for 21 years before retiring as Assistant Fire Chief in March 2014. Terry also was the Committee Chair for the Local Emergency Planning Committee in Columbia.

Chad is currently a Captain for the Boone County Sheriff's Department, where he has been employed for nearly 19 years. Chad has also volunteered as a fire fighter for the Southern Boone County Fire Protection District in Ashland, MO for 25 years. Prior to his employment with the Boone County Sheriff's Department, Chad was a dispatcher for Columbia/Boone County Joint Communications for five years.

Both Terry and Chad come to their positions with extraordinary skills and experience to serve the citizens of Boone County. The Commission is thrilled to have two individuals with such strong backgrounds in public safety, law enforcement, fire protection and emergency management to represent the people of Boone County.
