GOV. NIXON APPOINTS COLUMBIA BUSINESS OWNER
THOMAS DARROUGH AS NEW BOONE COUNTY TREASURER

Jefferson City, MO - Gov. Jay Nixon today appointed Thomas D. Darrough, of Columbia, as the new Boone County Treasurer. The position became vacant after former Treasurer Nicole Galloway was appointed as Missouri State Auditor.
Darrough, a Democrat, has owned and operated Tom Darrough Construction LLC, a general contractor that does residential and commercial construction, since 2002. He also owns a residential and commercial flooring installation company, Conlukeli LLC. His previous experience has included software management positions with companies such as Sprint, Corporate Express and Lanthier Programming and Consulting. Darrough obtained his undergraduate degree in business administration, with an emphasis in finance, from the University of Missouri - St. Louis.
"I'm pleased to appoint Tom Darrough to be the new Treasurer for Boone County and handle the finances of one of our state's largest counties," Gov. Nixon said. "I am confident he will continue the exemplary work done by Nicole Galloway and interim Treasurer Kay Murray in serving the citizens of Boone County."
