WEST ENTRANCE TO BOONE COUNTY GOVERNMENT CENTER
CLOSED OCTOBER 25 AND OCTOBER 26 FOR CONSTRUCTION
October 23, 2012—Renovations to the Boone County Courthouse Plaza are moving along swiftly. While much of the demolition, construction and landscaping is nearing completion, there are still areas requiring attention. One such area is the walking path immediately in front of the West Entrance to the Boone County Government Center, which leads in to the main lobby as well as the lobby adjacent to Commission Chambers.
In order to remove the existing damaged concrete and replace it, access to the West Entrance to the Boone County Government Center will be completely blocked Thursday, October 25 and Friday, October 26. The East Entrance to the Boone County Government Center, located on 9th Street, will remain open and accessible. Access to the West Entrance will reopen on Monday, October 29.
Beginning Tuesday, October 30, access to the Boone County Government Center will be open from both Walnut Street at the south end of the Plaza and Ash Street at the north end of the Plaza. The exact time this access will be open depends on many factors, so visitors are advised that the entrance may not be open until late afternoon. While most main walking paths will be open to the public, some areas of the Courthouse Plaza will still have restricted access due to construction and renovations. In the interest of safety, visitors are asked to please avoid any areas marked as restricted.
