CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR

Responsibilities:

Perform on site inspections of County driveway and right of way permits. Maintain inspection records for County contracted projects and private development projects. Verify installed quantities in order to justify contractor invoices for County road and bridge projects. Conduct inspections of private developments and certify that all work has been constructed according to the plans and Boone County specifications. Provide construction layout and field adjustments for County term and supply contracts.

Status: 

Full Time, non-exempt, benefitted

Working hours: 

7:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday; (Some weekend work and after-hours work may be required)

Location:

Columbia, Missouri

Qualifications: 

Associate's degree in construction, engineering, surveying, or a related field. A minimum of three years experience in civil construction, engineering, surveying or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Possess the knowledge and ability to interpret construction plans and specifications, deeds, plats and other related documentation. Possess the ability to use a survey level for grade checking, communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and use Microsoft Word and Excel computer programs. Must have a valid Missouri Driver's License with an insurable driving record.

Starting Hourly Pay Rate: 

$18.50-$19.66/hour
