LAW STUDENT INTERN
PROSECUTING ATTORNEY

Responsibilities:

Temporary law student intern works with assistant prosecuting attorneys from the Boone County Prosecutor's Office on on-going projects and the day-to-day operations related to prosecution. Additional hours may be available during the school term. Early start date is possible.

Under the direct supervision of assistant prosecuting attorneys, may assist in legal research, drafting criminal charges, preparing cases for hearing or trial, assist in interviewing witnesses and reviewing evidence. Intern will also observe court proceedings, including trials, evidentiary hearings and sentencings, as well as assist in general office operations.

A successful intern is also expected to have a flexible work schedule and an agreement to complete a minimum of 10 hours per week during normal office hours of 8:00-5:00 pm Monday-Friday.

Status: 

Temporary, part-time, non-exempt, non-benefited

Working hours: 

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday, 5/28/26 - 8/15/26

Location:

Columbia, Missouri

Qualifications: 

Must be enrolled in law school and be at least 21 years of age upon hire.

Starting Hourly Pay Rate: 

$17.57 per hour
