Angel Lane Reconstruction Project Groundbreaking Ceremony Set for September 22, 2014

September 16, 2014

The groundbreaking ceremony recognizing the commencement of the Angel Lane Reconstruction Project will be held on Monday, September 22, 2014 at 10:00AM. The event, which will include a ribbon cutting by the Southern Boone County Chamber of Commerce, will take place at the intersection of Angel Lane and Ashland Industrial Park. Ashland Ward 1 Alderman George Campbell will serve as emcee and Pastor Scott Smith will offer the opening prayer. Ashland Mayor Gene Rhorer, Boone County Presiding Commissioner Dan Atwill and Ashland City Administrator Josh Hawkins will offer remarks at the event. Parking is available along Ashland Industrial Court.

The reconstruction of Angel Lane from Highway 63 to the Columbia Regional Airport will be paid for through a cost-share agreement between the city of Ashland and Boone County. APAC-Missouri was awarded the project and will use the "reclamation" process, which removes current road material to a depth of 12 inches, grinds it and then reuses it as part of the new roadway material. The bid for this project was approximately $375,000, of which, based on the cost-share agreement, Boone County will pay 30 percent. Upon completion of the project, ownership and maintenance of the entire road will transfer completely to the city of Ashland.
