Boone County Announces Jenna Redel-Reed Will Serve as Director of Human Resources and Risk Management

The Boone County Commission is pleased to announce that Jenna Redel-Reed will serve as the Boone County Director of Human Resources and Risk Management beginning January 13, 2014. Jenna's education in both law and business management coupled with her governmental experience makes her an ideal candidate for this position. Her education includes a Masters Degree in Business Management and Juris Doctorate. Jenna has extensive experience interpreting existing policy, allowing her to instruct others on appropriate administration, in a variety of settings including The Shelter (now True North), University of Missouri Police Department, University of Missouri Office of Judicial Services, Cole County Prosecutor's Office and Missouri Attorney General's Office. She has also used her knowledge to advise various State agencies in matters regarding human resources and policy development.

The Human Resources and Risk Management Department is responsible for employee benefits, workers' compensation, general liability insurance and loss control programs as well as providing services relating to personnel administration and policies. As Director, with general direction from the Boone County Commission, Jenna will be responsible for planning, directing, supervising and coordinating these responsibilities as well providing recommendations and guidance to administrative authorities regarding personnel issues; conducting research and analysis regarding personnel and risk management; acting as liaison with the County's benefits providers; supervising the full spectrum of recruitment activities; and advising the Commission and administrative authorities regarding various state and federal employment laws, regulations, standards and guidelines. The selection committee and the Boone County Commission are confident that Jenna will be an asset to Boone County as the Director of Human Resources and Risk Management.
