Boone County Children's Services Board to Postpone Youth Violence Conference Due to Coronavirus
March 12, 2020—The Voices for Collective Impact: Youth Violence Prevention Conference scheduled for March 12, 2020 has been postponed due to the World Health Organization labeling the Coronavirus a global pandemic. The Voices for Collective Impact: Youth Violence Prevention conference is aimed at developing a community action plan around youth violence.
“We value the health and safety of every member of our community.” says Community Services Department Director Joanne Nelson, “While it is unfortunate to postpone this event, we plan to continue working to improve the health and wellbeing of children and families in Boone County.”
The Boone County Children’s Services Board is working to identify potential future dates for the conference to be rescheduled. At this point, no date has been identified.
The mission of the Boone County Children’s Services Board (BCCSB) is to improve the lives of children, youth and families in Boone County by strategically investing in the creation and maintenance of integrated systems that deliver effective and quality services for children and families in need. BCCSB oversees revenue collected through the Children’s Services Fund sales tax and disburses funding to governmental and nonprofit organizations.
