Proclamation to be Presented to Promote Investments in Families and Children Ages Birth to Three Years

December 4, 2018 – A proclamation recognizing the importance of prioritizing and investing in children ages birth to three years and their families will be presented by the Boone County Commission during its meeting on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 1:30PM. The media is invited to come to the meeting, being held in Commission Chambers of the Boone County Government Center.

The proclamation promotes the work being done through a partnership between Boone County and the Cradle to Career Alliance. By utilizing a grant provided by the National Association of Counties (NACo) and the Pritzker Children’s Initiative, the two local entities are promoting Kindergarten Readiness through age 0-3 interventions. The most rapid period of growth development occurs from birth to age three, during which the foundation for future learning, behavior and health is built. Therefore, programs and policies supporting healthy development during this time result in better social, economic, and health outcomes for the children, their families and their communities.

Through this proclamation, the Boone County Commission is recognizing the importance of these services for children and families to our community. Crystal Kroner, Ph.D., Collaborative Action Network Manager for the Cradle to Career Alliance, will be present to accept the proclamation.
