Inclusive Excellence Celebration to be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018

August 20, 2018 – The Matters of Social Justice Committee of Boone County is hosting the Inclusive Excellence Celebration on Saturday, August 25, 2018 in Downtown Columbia. The Celebration will begin at 7:30AM at Peace Park with sign making and free t-shirts. At 9:00AM, participants will travel from Peace Park to the Boone County Courthouse Plaza in the March Toward an Inclusive Community. From 9:30AM until 12:00PM, participants can enjoy music, kid and family activities, register for prizes and listen to guest speaker, Dr. Damon Williams. Dr. Williams is a visionary and inspirational leader, and one of the nation's recognized experts in strategic diversity leadership, youth development, corporate responsibility, educational achievement, social impact, and organizational change. All are welcome to attend this free event celebrating diversity, equity and inclusion in our community.

The Matters of Social Justice Committee of Boone County is a collaboration of organizations throughout Boone County. The Matters of Social Justice Committee intentionally fosters equity, diversity and inclusion by creating educational experiences, raising awareness and providing strategies to bring together a community committed to inclusive excellence.
