Roland named Boone County Employee of the Quarter

May 4, 2011

Lisa Roland

Lisa Roland has been named as the Boone County Employee of the Quarter. She was selected by the Boone County Suggestion/Employee Recognition Committee.

Roland has served as Accountant/Deputy Treasurer with the Boone County Treasurer's office since 2003. During her tenure with the County, Roland has twice served as Boone County's interim Treasurer, the first time after former Treasurer Kay Murray retired in 2010 and the second time following the death of Treasurer Jan Fugit in 2011.

Roland has also served as budget oversight for several of Boone County's capital improvement projects, including the $9.5 million courthouse renovation, the construction of the Sheriff's Department annex and the current renovation of the Boone County Government Center.

The project that Roland cites as her most significant accomplishment with Boone County was her work to help automate and develop the interface for the investment program her office uses to track the County's investments. Before this project, Roland said, this work had to be performed manually and was very time consuming.

According to the Boone County Suggestion/Employee Recognition Committee, "Lisa is always accessible, kind and professional with the public and her coworkers. Lisa is a team player who has demonstrated proficient knowledge and leadership skills when called upon to handle extra duties."

Outside of the office, Roland said that most of her time is spent being involved in her daughters' schooling and sports activities. She also serves as the treasurer of Cedar Ridge Elementary PTA and the Columbia Council of PTAs, and as president of the El Chaparral Neighborhood Association.

Roland and the other nominees for Boone County Employee of the Quarter will be recognized by the Boone County Commission and the Suggestion/Employee Recognition Committee at the Commission meeting on Thursday, May 5 at 1:30 p.m. in the Commission Chambers at the Boone County Government Center. A reception will immediately follow in Room 301.
