Boone County Commission Declares "Probation, Parole & Community Supervision Week"

County Commission Presents Official Proclamation to Local Probation and Parole Office

Today, Boone County Presiding Commissioner Ken Pearson presented the Boone County Probation and Parole Office in Columbia with an official proclamation to mark July 19 to 25, 2009 as "Probation, Parole and Community Supervision Week" in Boone County. The week is observed nationally by the American Probation and Parole Association.

There are 2,153 people on probation and parole in Boone County. Every day, dedicated officers serve crime victims and work with probationers and parolees to hold offenders accountable for the crimes they have committed against our families, friends and neighborhoods. It is through their commitment to public safety that our communities are safer places for everyone.

The Boone County Commission encourages all citizens to honor community corrections professionals and recognize their achievements.
