Crews Working Overtime to Get Roads Open as Soon as Possible

Columbia, MO (April 30, 2009)—The Boone County Public Works Department has been working overtime since midnight Wednesday to assess the flood damage on county roads and begin repairs. Chip Estabrooks, Road Maintenance Operations Manager, said the Public Works crews will continue to work past regular hours today, but they cannot get a lot done after dark.

"All of our trucks are out working," Estabrooks said. "The goal is to open roads as soon as possible."

Estabrooks also said it is too early to tell the cost of the damage and that the amount of damage varies throughout the county.

If anyone needs to report flood damage please contact Boone County Public Works at 573-449-8515.
