1. When are the Boone County Commission meetings?

The Boone County Commission convenes regularly every Tuesday at 9:30 AM and Thursday at 1:30 PM in the Commission Chambers of the Roger B. Wilson Boone County Government Center. There are times when the Commission meets in conjunction with the Planning & Zoning Commission, whose meetings occur on Tuesdays at 7:00 PM; when this happens, the Commission will not convene at 9:30 AM. 3. Can my group use the Boone County Government Conference Rooms and/or the Boone County Courthouse Plaza for an event?

Non-profit groups may use the Roger B. Wilson Boone County Government Center, the Centralia Satellite Office and the Boone County Courthouse Plaza for the purposes of gathering and facilitating community activities. Activities conducted must be scheduled and pre-approved through the Boone County Commission office. Political fundraisers or commercial activities are prohibited. 4. What is the procedure for requesting use of the Boone County Courthouse Plaza for an event?

After reviewing the Boone County Courthouse Plaza Use Policy and the Boone County Courthouse Plaza Rules & Regulations to determine your event's potential eligibility, please complete the Boone County Courthouse Plaza Use Application and submit to the Boone County Commission. You may submit your application by:

  • E-mailing the completed application to commission@boonecountymo.org.
  • Mailing the completed application and deposit check to Boone County Commission, 801 E. Walnut St., Rm 333, Columbia, MO 65201-7732.
  • Delivering the completed application and deposit check to the Boone County Commission Office.
  • Faxing the application to (573) 886-4311.

Applications emailed or faxed will be held by the Commission Office until the deposit check is received.

Applications for use of the Courthouse Plaza may be submitted up to one year in advance, but must be submitted no later than 45 days before the anticipated event.

Once the application has been reviewed and any concerns have been addressed, it will be placed on the bi-weekly Commission agenda for approval. Applicants will then be notified regarding the final decision of the Commission.

5. What is the procedure for requesting use of Boone County Conference Rooms for an event?

After reviewing the Boone County Government Conference Rooms General Information to determine your event’s potential eligibility, please complete the Boone County Government Conference Room Use Application and submit to the Boone County Commission. You may submit your application by:

  • E-mailing the completed application to commission@boonecountymo.org.
  • Mailing the completed application Boone County Commission, 801 E. Walnut St., Rm 333, Columbia, MO 65201-7732.
  • Delivering the completed application to the Boone County Commission Office.
  • Faxing the application to (573) 886-4311.

Applications for use of the Boone County Government Conference Rooms may be submitted up to one three months in advance, but must be submitted no later than one week prior to the anticipated event.

Once the application has been reviewed and any concerns have been addressed, it will be placed on the bi-weekly Commission agenda for approval. Applicants will then be notified regarding the final decision of the Commission.

Residents within the city limits of the City of Columbia and within areas defined as Urban Service Areas by order of the Boone County Commission may refer to the Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services Animal Control Division’s website.
