Kay Murray has held the office of Boone County Treasurer since 1976.

The County Treasurer is an elected official responsible for receiving, disbursing and investing all funds for the County and ensuring that monies are correctly segregated into separate funds as required by law. The County Treasurer issues all general obligation bonds and revenue bonds for Boone County. The County Treasurer also serves on the County’s Self-Health Trust Fund Board and provides oversight for several financial and non-financial projects including the Neighborhood Assistance Program (related to the Courthouse Square Project) and Community Art Displays for public buildings.
