EXCESS FUNDS POLICY Excess Limit - - In order to
provide for the timely recording of documents and to be cost effective, the
Recorder of Deeds of Boone County, Missouri, will retain any excess payment
of fees up to $10.00. This will
reduce rejections and allow for the priority of recording documents so long
as the submitted payment is not less than the statutorily prescribed fee. The
amount submitted shall be considered and receipted as payment for service. Refund Determination - - All
excess funds will be receipted accordingly and deposited. Any request concerning an overpayment must
be in writing and received by the Recorder of Deeds within thirty (30) days
after the date of recording of the document.
Upon receipt of request the Recorder of Deeds will have thirty (30)
days to make a determination and respond accordingly. |
